Since the founding of our winery in 2010, growing grapes and making wine has been a true passion of our four families, who have been friends for many years and share a number of things in common. We all graduated from China’s Fudan University and now live in the San Francisco Bay Area, we are all biology nerds working in healthcare, and we all enjoy good food and fine wines. We nicknamed ourselves Athos, Porthos, Aramis and d’Artagnan — after the three friends from Duma’s Three Musketeers. 3+1 Wines are produced from estate grapes grown on the sunny hills of Moraga, California, right in the heart of the Lamorinda American Viticulture Area. The unique topography, soil, and climate in this area, along with our meticulous attention to detail in every step of wine-making, produce wines with rich complexity and elegant balance that are both enjoyable and memorable.
